The SmarTrack S5+ iMob (with “No Tag, No Start” Immobilisation) delivers advanced vehicle security with built-in automatic immobilisation for maximum theft prevention.
Unlike some standard S5 systems, the S5+ iMob features “no tag, no start” technology — meaning if an authorised card or tag is not present, the vehicle simply will not start. This provides an immediate and proactive layer of protection, stopping theft before it can even begin.

Option 1: 2x Driver Detection Cards
Slim, rechargeable cards designed to sit neatly inside your wallet or cardholder. Each card lasts up to around 3 months on a single charge and recharges via the supplied USB charger.

Option 2: 2x Driver Detection Tags
Compact, keyring-friendly tags powered by a replaceable battery. The tags automatically enter sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity and reactivate when moved, helping preserve battery life. Battery levels can be monitored via the system, with low-battery notifications for added peace of mind.

“No Tag, No Start” Protection
With the S5+ iMob, driver recognition is mandatory. If a valid Driver Detection Card or Tag is not detected, the vehicle will not start. This Thatcham S5 compliant immobilisation prevents unauthorised use, including relay attack and key cloning theft methods.
In addition to automatic immobilisation, the system can also be remotely immobilised by trained staff at the 24/7 monitoring centre in the event of a confirmed theft.
If an unauthorised attempt is detected, an alert is immediately generated and investigated by the 24/7 monitoring centre.

- What If I Lose My Cards Or They Are Stolen?
In the event that you lose either of your supplied Bluetooth Driver Detection cards, please contact Global Telemetrics on 0800 279 6401 who will gladly provide you with a replacement. The lost card will be remotely deactivated to prevent foul play. You will be given access to a mobile tracking app which can be used to disarm your vehicle in the interim period before your new cards are delivered to you. If your cards and subsequently your vehicle is stolen, please contact the Police to obtain a crime reference number before reporting to Global Telemetrics on 0800 279 6401 option 1 to begin the stolen vehicle recovery liaison process.
- Is there an ongoing cost?
A subscription is required in order to maintain activation of the tracking device. Global Telemetrics offer multiple, flexible subscription options including monthly, annually and Duration of Ownership subscriptions. - Can the product be transferred to a new vehicle?
Yes, this can be arranged. Please contact us for more information and a quotation.
- Is there any warranty included?
The device has a 3 year manufacturer warranty included with your purchase- this can be extended up to 12 years.
- Will the product void my vehicle manufacturer warranty?
We are not aware of any instances where a vehicle warranty has been voided due to the presence of a SmarTrack S5+ iMOB, however, due to the complex variations in vehicle warranties, it is always advisable to speak with the manufacturer for confirmation.
- What do I do when my vehicle goes in for servicing?
Putting the device into “Service Mode” is quick and easy to do via the mobile app. Simply activate Service Mode to enable the vehicle to be driven without the presence of your Driver Detection card, then deactivate Service Mode once the vehicle is back in your possession. The Global Telemetrics support team is available 24/7 should you require any assistance.
- What will happen if I disconnect or change the vehicle battery?
A disconnected battery will not affect the immobilisation aspect of the S5+ iMOB device, however, you will receive a telephone call from the Global Telemetrics Secure Control Centre and push notifications to the mobile app to ensure the vehicle is safe.
- How close does the card need to be to the vehicle in order to start?
The distance for which the Driver Detection card will need to be from the vehicle in order for the vehicle to start will vary depending on the vehicle type and the installation location of the device within the vehicle. However, the card is required to be within the vehicle, or just outside, and therefore it is unlikely that a vehicle will start having picked up a signal from a card not stored within the vehicle.
- How long will the installation take?
The time taken to install a S5+ iMOB system can vary depending upon the vehicle type, age and make and model. On average, please allow 2 hours for installation to be completed.
- What if someone borrows my car?
As well as innovative Driver Detection cards, the S5+ iMOB system also gives you access to a dedicated mobile app. Through the mobile app you can disable the immobilisation aspect, enabling you to lend the car to another driver without having to supply the Driver Detection cards.
