The theft of motorbikes, like cars, has increased in recent years, but that’s not the only bad news. Whilst theft is going up, the rate at which stolen bikes are being recovered is going down. For every 5 bikes stolen, only 2 are expected to be recovered, but It doesn’t have to be that way.

We wanted to arm you with some of the ways you can strengthen your bikes security to prevent your two-wheeled beast from being stolen. Some of them you might be aware of and others you might not. Some are overt and others more covert, but all designed to secure your motorbike and stop it falling into the wrong hands.

Don’t Make It Obvious

There’s nothing wrong with being proud of your bike. We’re sure you’ve worked hard to afford it and riding it will give you immense pleasure, but the first prevention tactic is not to advertise the fact that you have something worth stealing. Motorbikes are often stolen to order, so if you have one on their list, let’s not make it easy for them. If you can, store your bike out of sight, whether that’s in the garage, round the back of the house or just tucked away. If you can avoid keeping it outside in full view, then please do.

Vigilance Is Key

Probably the cheapest security option on this list won’t actually cost you anything, and that’s just to be vigilant. As previously mentioned, many bikes are stolen based on order lists, so keep your eyes peeled for anyone looking suspicious or acting strangely, either near your home or your work.  Thieves often scope out the area beforehand, so watch out for anyone acting suspiciously. If you have a local neighbourhood watch scheme, then get yourself signed up. The more eyes keeping look out, the better.

Visual Deterrents

If you don’t have one already, invest in a good steering lock for your bike. Whilst there are few physical locks that can’t be overcome with a bit of brute force and dedication, it’s fitted to make life a little harder for thieves. It will make the bike harder to physically manipulate or moved somewhere more secluded. It will, more importantly, also add time to the theft itself, something they will want to avoid.

Similarly, invest in a heavy-duty chain and even a ground anchor at home to help secure your bike. Remember when using the chain to go through the frame of the bike, not just the wheel. Obviously there probably won’t be a ground anchor when you’re out and about, but look for immoveable objects like lampposts or dedicated bike racks to secure your bike to.

Fit a Tracker

It should come as no surprise that having a tracker fitted to your motorbike is a no-brainer when it comes to not only securing it, but also recovering it should the worst happen. We would recommend the Datatool Stealth S5 motorbike tracker, one of the most advance motorcycle trackers you can buy in the UK.

As an S5 rated device, it meets Thatcham’s highest security protocol because it combats all known methods the thieves will utilise to try and steal your two-wheeled behemoth. This defence starts the second you switch off the ignition.

It does this by creating an invisible geo-fence around your bike, looking for any unauthorised movement. The second it detects any, the 24-hour control centre will be notified and so will you, thanks to its dedicated smartphone app. It’s also supported by the police, comes with Automatic Driver Tags (ADR) and even has G Sense notification for crash detection for when you’re out on the open road.

Its time to start the fight back against motorcycle thieves, and if you’re looking to have a tracker installed, give us a call and we can arrange to have one fitted no matter where you are in the UK.

As we all become more environmentally aware and understand the impact that climate change is having on all our lives, the number of electric vehicles on our roads has increased.

As of the end of 2021, there were over 395,000 electric vehicles and more than 740,000 plug-in hybrids driving on UK roads. Those figures are only going to increase in the years to come.

Whether you’ve already joined the green revolution or are just dipping your toes tentatively in the rising tidal waters of climate change, securing your electric vehicle is going to be your number one priority. You will have no doubt considered a car tracker, but then asked yourself the same question thousands of others have asked; do car trackers work on electric vehicles? Let’s try and answer that question for you now.

Car Trackers & Battery Drainage:

Before we get to that big question, let’s tackle another popular one. With battery power seemingly the be-all and end-all of electric vehicles, one of the most common misconceptions is that a car tracker will drain the battery too much. Whilst it will obviously use some power, a car tracker actually uses very little energy and is unlikely to have any noticeable difference on your car’s power banks. When you remember that you’ll regularly recharge your EV or, if it’s a hybrid, it will recharge as it drives, it becomes clear that that is just not an issue.

The simple and easy answer is yes; car trackers do work on electric vehicles. Not only do they work, but they work very well indeed and come with a raft of benefits that are even more important on EVs.

There aren’t many cars on the road that pack as much technology into a small vehicle shape than electric cars do. As such, they are just as susceptible to the latest car theft techniques than any other modern car. Relay attacks are increasingly used to steal vehicles but most car trackers now actively fight against that. Whilst the owners can do their part by keeping the keys in a Faraday case, trackers utilise geo-fencing to create an invisible barrier around the vehicle. Once armed, anything coming within that protected zone will be registered and the control centre, and you as owner, will be notified.

Almost every self-respecting car tracker will come with a smart-phone app which, when installed on an electric vehicle, becomes even more useful. Many trackers we sell here at Infiniti come with Vehicle Health Alerts. These can warn you about any issues with your car, so you can get them resolved before they turn into bigger problems. Any technical faults and concerns can be rectified easily saving you from potentially expensive garage fees or worse, breakdowns.

Whilst there’s obviously going to be a small cost to buying a car tracker for your EV, that cost can be off-set against savings you’ll make on your insurance premiums. As an industry, we are increasingly seeing insurance companies refuse to sell policies on electric cars without a tracker fitted. Even if they do, the premium will be reduced on cars that have one installed. Even better news is that our dedicated team will come to you, no matter where you are in the UK, and fit it for you.

We hope this has allayed some of your concerns about how car trackers and electric vehicles coalesce. There has never been a better time to buy an electric vehicle and there has never been more reasons to have a tracker fitted than now.

If you’re looking to get a vehicle tracker installed on your own car, or even a fleet of cars, electric or otherwise, give our team a call and let’s make it happen.

It’s easy to think of trackers being only installed on top-of-the-range cars, but there are so much more uses for them than that. Trackers can be installed on motorbikes, vans, HGV trucks, caravans and motorhomes.

Thanks to the rise in popularity of the ‘staycation’ in recent years, the number of motorhomes on the roads have increased enormously. The sales of caravans rose 71% in 2020 and the waiting lists for people wanting to buy a motorhome have reached 10 months in some places.

Whether you’re a long-standing motorhome connoisseur or a new-comer to the free roaming lifestyle, securing your motorhome will be a priority. With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of the best Thatcham-approved motorhome trackers available to make sure the only one taking a drive in your motorhome is you!

Whilst most car trackers would work perfectly well on a motorhome, there are some devices that have been specifically designed for these four-wheeled mobile vacations.

ScorpionTrack S5 Motorhome Defender

The first one we’d recommend is the S5 Motorhome Defender from ScorpionTrack. This insurance-approved device comes with Thatcham’s highest security category, which means you’re going to get one of the most advanced motorhome trackers available.

As well as the now expected dedicated smartphone app and all the power that gives you, being an S5 system, you also get Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR) tags. These powerful little devices mean that, without them being in close proximity to the vehicle, it simply won’t start.

This is especially useful given the nomadic nature of the motorhome. Whilst you’re out exploring the countryside with the tags safely stored on your person, you can rest assured that your motorhome is going nowhere. Also, should you eventually upgrade your motorhome for another, you can easily transfer it from one vehicle to the next.

SmarTrack Motorhome Protector

As with the tracker above, the Motorhome Protector from SmarTrack is, as the name suggests,  another dedicated tracker that offers peace of mind to anyone loving the mobile home lifestyle. Like its predecessor, this one is also insurance approved and rated by Thatcham to meet its Category 6 and S7 standards.

This one doesn’t just rely solely on GPS technology to help track it, it also uses the latest GPRS, GSM and LBS tracking technology. In real terms, this means that it utilises many more wavebands and networks should the worst happen and it gets stolen. There will be no place to hide from the 24 hour control centre looking to recover your vehicle, even if it’s stored underground or in a shipping container.

As with almost all trackers these days, you get access to SmarTrack’s dedicated smartphone app that lets you know the vehicles location, but also covers battery backup status, low battery and motion alerts. If you want to venture to mainland Europe, this tracker also includes European coverage so you’re safe, wherever you are.

Don’t ever think that choosing a motorhome over a top-of-the-range executive car or luxury SUV means you have to compromise when it comes to vehicle security, you don’t.

These are just two of the range of trackers we offer and all of them would be perfectly at home on your car, van, motorhome or caravan. When you’re looking for a getaway, it’s just you, the open road and your Infiniti-fitted tracker, what more do you need?

In a relatively short period of time, the Global Positioning System (GPS) has revolutionised our relationship with technology. From the mobile phones we carry around every day to the supply chain we all rely on, it has integrated into our lives beyond compare, not least within the GPS tracking devices located on our vehicles.

When it comes to car security, why we choose to protect our pride and joy will obviously change from one person to another. We’re all different, so we all will have different reasons to invest in a GPS tracking device.

If you’re still weighing up your options, or are ready to take the plunge, we wanted to look at some of the most important things to consider when buying a tracker and why it really is an investment worth taking.

1. Theft Prevention

It should be no great surprise that one of the most important reasons anyone invests in a GPS tracker for their car, van or motorhome is to prevent it from being stolen. Whether you own one car or manage a whole fleet of vehicles, anything that can help prevent it from being stolen has to be considered seriously.

Whilst it can’t 100% guarantee that it can’t be stolen (nothing can), it will reduce the risk significantly, whilst also massively increasing the chances of getting your vehicle back, thanks to the real-time tracking abilities that come with the GPS.

Any suspicious activity or unauthorised movement can immediately be flagged to the 24/7 control centre, who will liaise with your local police force on your behalf. When it comes to financial investment, your vehicle is probably only second to your home, so spending a little extra on a tracker to secure it when you’re away from it has to be one of your best, and simplest, decisions.

2. Monitor Your Car’s Vitals

Tracking a vehicle’s position in real-time isn’t the only benefit you gain from investing in a car tracking system. Many models also offer you the opportunity to analyse important statistics on your car.

These stats are vital if you manage a fleet of cars and trucks, but if even if it’s just the family car you’re connected too, they can also give you information on how it’s being driven by other members of the family.

Whether it’s you, your grown-up children or your other half, being able to understand how your car is being driven can help you to save money. Cars that are driven carelessly can have a huge impact on the money you have to spend on them; from the amount of fuel they use, the wear and tear on the tyres and any subsequent repair costs. If you can understand them, the more money you’ll save.

Trackers allow you to monitor a number of factors including the speed the car has been driven, the direction of travel, fuel consumption, how many hours it has been driven and when. Collectively, they can provide a fascinating insight to how your car is being used, whether you’re at the wheel or not.

3. Peace of Mind

As we mentioned earlier, your vehicle is probably the second most expensive financial expenditure you will make. Investing in a tracker gives you peace of mind that that investment is secured.

Whether it’s stored at home or parked up whilst you’re out and about, a car tracker works to warn you immediately against any unauthorised movement of your vehicle, even if it’s being towed by a traffic enforcement vehicle. If it moves when it’s not supposed too, you’ll instantly know about it.

Not only that, some models offer even more options to make you feel secure. Some trackers offer warning of collisions that occur, incredibly valuable if other members of your family are out in the car. Others also can monitor the driver’s voice, particularly useful if the vehicle has been stolen, as it might offer some vital clues the police need in the earliest moments of the theft.

Of course, your reason for buying a tracker may well differ from mine, but I think we can all agree with some confidence that having any tracker fitted gives you a sense of comfort that you’ve done all you can.

With all the advances in car security and the technology within our beloved motor vehicles these days, it’s easy to forget that car theft is still very much prevalent in our society.

Here in the UK, during 2020/21, there were over 89,400 motor vehicle thefts across England and Wales. Whilst technological advances increase, so too do the methods thieves use in an attempt to steal your pride and joy.

Keyless entry systems and remote access are now commonplace, but many of the ways to avoid car theft are distinctly low-tech. Let’s take a look at some of the ways you can utilise them to avoid becoming a victim of those deplorable car thieves.

Lock Your Vehicle

It might sound obvious, but one of the most effective ways to prevent car theft to to ensure you lock your vehicle when not using it. Back in the day when you had to physically turn a key in the lock to secure your car, it happened through force of habit, but now most modern cars will have a remote lock.

These days, when you’re trying to get the kids out the car, unload the shopping and remember to collect your valuables from inside, it’s easy to forget to press your key fob when all you want to do is get in the house in one piece.

Whether you’re at home, in a car park or just paying for fuel, lock your car. When you’re defrosting it during the winter months, lock your car! It’s actually illegal to leave your car unattended when warming the engine or de-icing it; so if it’s stolen in this situation, your insurer won’t pay out. Finally, don’t just assume it’s locked. Even if the lights come on, physically check the locks have engaged before leaving your car.

Keep Your Keys Secure

As keyless entry systems become much more common in our vehicles, keeping your keys secure is much more important. No longer is it enough to throw them on the side table and lock your front door. Thieves can now clone the signal from the keys and gain access to your vehicle from outside.

To prevent this, make sure you store your keys as far away from the vehicle itself, but this is no guarantee of success. Your best bet would be to keep your keys in a Faraday bag. A Faraday bag, pouch or box blocks the signal the thieves need to clone your keys and drive your car away. It’s a small change but one which can make a huge difference.

Fit A Tracker

Fitting your car with a tracking device is not only a fantastic deterrent in the battle with car thieves but it also massively increases the chances, should your car actually be stolen, of recovering the vehicle quickly and easily.

We offer a huge range of trackers to suit any budget and will work perfectly on any car. Our team can come and install your tracker no matter where you are in the UK.

We pride ourselves on the fantastic range of trackers that offer the highest levels of security and come with a raft of features that are sure you give you the confidence that, when you leave your vehicle unattended, it will still be there when you get back. Take a look at our shop and find the perfect antidote to car theft.

The Global Positioning System has brought us many things, from mapping and surveying, locating loved ones and, of course, mobile phones. Car security, and in particular car trackers, also rely on this technology and it has helped the industry create increasingly sophisticated systems to help you secure your car, motorbike, motorhome or van.

Most of us will be familiar with the term ‘GPS’ and its uses, but how does it work? How does GPS help trackers to function and secure your vehicle? Let’s take a look.

In order to understand how car trackers work, we also need to talk about the underpinning Global Positioning System on which many of them rely.

Global Positioning System Network:

The Global Positioning System is a network of around 24 satellites orbiting the Earth, albeit within the atmosphere, It was originally started as a project within the US Department of Defence which used it primarily for military operations. It was opened up for civilian use in Reagan era of the late 1980s.

These satellites orbit the Earth twice a day, each of them in a very particular orbit and each one transmitting its own unique signal. A GPS receiver on Earth, whether that’s your smartphone or car tracking system, receives this information.

Because each satellite signal is unique, the receiver knows which satellite it is. It locks onto the signal so it can calculate the distance from each of the satellites from which it receives a signal. A receiver needs signals from at least 3 satellites to be able to accurately find its location on a 2D plane, and 4 if you need to know your altitude too, but most receivers can usually connect to around 8 at any one time.

When the receiver has enough signals, by using trilateration, it can then calculate how long it takes to receive the signal from each satellite in range and therefore is able to workout where in the world it is. Not only can you get your location, the system will also be able to understand your speed, bearing and distance to your destination by using those same signals.

Obviously, all these incredible technological processes happen pretty much in the background so usually occur without you having to do anything, other than turn the device on. When it comes to your car tracker, this handshake between the receiver and the satellites in orbit are the same technology that is going to help you get your car back, should the worst happen and it gets stolen.

When your car is fitted with one of our car trackers, its GPS location is monitored 24/7. When you’re happily driving around and all things are good, then you won’t even think about it. GPS will come into its own when things take a more serious turn.

24/7 Control Center:

If your vehicle is stolen, and the alarm is activated, that’s when the GPS signal shows its real power. The 24/7 control centre behind the tracker will be activated and will now be tracking your vehicle in real-time. They will get a physical location of the vehicle, whether it’s stationary or moving. They’ll also be able to know the direction of travel and its speed, and will relay that information to the police so, together, they aim to recover your vehicle and get it back to you quickly and safely.

It’s also worth pointing out that almost all of the systems we sell don’t just rely on the GPS network. GPS isn’t the only global network of satellites out there. Other’s include GLONASS, Galileo, LBS, VHF and MESH. The more access your tracker has to other networks, the more secure, the more accurate and the more reliable it is going to be.

Whichever tracker you choose, you’re going to get one that works perfectly, can be installed wherever you are in the UK and will signal to any car thief that you’re serious about protecting your vehicle.

When we talk about vehicle security, and in particular car trackers, it’s often associated with the higher end of the automotive spectrum. With the inherent technology within these incredible devices, our minds often think the only vehicles worth securing are the newer, expensive ones we work so hard to buy, but that’s not the case.

For all the luxury cars we love to drive, there are just as many people who prefer more vintage models. Classic cars may not be as technologically advanced, but they are just as precious to those who own them and deserve the same amount of protection.

If you have a classic car, we wanted to take a look at 3 of the very best trackers available to you to help keep your pride and joy just where you left it.

SmarTrack Protector Pro Global

With the international market for British classic cars being so in-demand, it makes perfect sense to add a tracker that will work internationally. The Protector Pro from SmarTrack fits the bill perfectly.

Not only is it one of our most popular trackers, it is also one of the most cost-effective. With parts on classic cars being much less concealed as they are on modern cars, its important that a tracker can be installed in a place that’s not easy to spot. This one is both small and covert so anyone would have a hard time finding it, plus it’s both rugged and waterproof.

It also comes with its own smartphone app to help you monitor your tracker and, with a 24-hour control centre offering real-time monitoring, you’ll be able to find your beloved classic car whichever country it finds itself.

ScorpionTrack S5

ScorpionTrack S5+

If you’re looking for a car tracker that’s ahead of the pack and offers the highest level of security features, the S5 VTS from ScorpionTrack is for you.

Both insurance and Thatcham-approved and rated at their highest level, the S5 comes with all the features you would expect. This includes Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR) tags, which only allow the vehicle to start if the tag is in close proximity to the vehicle, journey history, geofence alerts and even driver behaviour analysis, all managed by its very own smartphone app.

Not only that, it’s designed and manufactured here in the UK to the Police’s own Preferred Specification, meaning it keeps you and your vehicle safe from key theft and cloning. Even with a classic car, you can never be too careful.

Tracker Monitor

Car security is often a cat-and-mouse game between the thieves and the system manufacturers. The Monitor system from Tracker aims to keep you one step ahead thanks to its patented VHF technology. This makes this particular model extremely resilient to signal jammers.

In addition, thanks to its cutting edge technology it also allows the vehicle in which its fitted to be tracked, even if it’s being stored in a shopping container, a lock-up or even an underground car park. If all that isn’t enough, the Monitor is also supported by numerous UK police forces.

With the rise in theft of classic cars, there has never been a better time to get a car tracker fitted. All of these listed below are some of the best trackers available, not just for your classic car, but for any car. That said, even the folks at Heritage Classic Car Insurance recommend these systems, so you know they must be good.

It might sound like something straight out of a James Bond movie, but there are a number of reasons that might mean your car has been fitted with a GPS tracker without your knowledge.

In the most innocent example, you might have bought a car and either you didn’t ask or the seller didn’t tell you that the vehicle had one fitted. In more sinister examples, one might have been placed on your car to track your movements without your prior knowledge.

Whatever the circumstances if you need to find out if your car has a GPS tracker fitted, how do you do it? Let’s take a look.

What about GPS Tracking Devices?

When it comes to GPS tracking devices, there are two main types; monitored and unmonitored.  Monitored devices transmit data in real-time, including the vehicles location, speed, direction of travel, etc. These can be hard-wired into the car’s power supply, but most are battery powered.

Unmonitored devices store ‘waypoints’ and don’t transmit their location in the same way. As the vehicle moves, they collect GPS ‘points’ at set time intervals as map coordinates that need to be deciphered later on. These are less expensive and also need to be physically retrieved and the information downloaded to get to the data.

Depending on the type of device installed, its location will be determined by the type of device it is and therefore might limit the possible locations it would be secured.

Visual Inspection:

In the first instance, a visual inspection will be your best bet. Grab yourself a torch, a mirror and a floor mat and take a look in, around and under your car.

More often that not, you’re looking for a small box, cylinder or rectangular shape. Check the wheel wells first and hopefully the only thing you’ll find is your braking system, but be sure to check all around all four wheels including the springs and, if possible, behind your alloys.

Whilst you’re down there, check the undercarriage of the car. Older GPS trackers were attached to the underside of the car, some were even magnetic, so be sure to check for this. If it was installed in a less sophisticated manner, it might just be held on with velcro or duct, masking or electrician’s tape.

Bear in mind that most car undersides can be pretty dirty, so trackers can be harder to spot in-between all the dirt and grime, which is where your torch will come in handy. If there’s nothing there, it’s time to expand your search.

Inside of the Car:

Whilst it might sound unlikely, the inside of the car is one of the most popular places to find a GPS tracker. Many of the trackers these days are ‘plug-and-play’, meaning they will attach to your cars OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) port.

This port is usually found somewhere around your car’s dashboard. If you’re not sure where your car’s port is, take a look at the user manual that came with the car or, failing that, Google will help you pin it down.

If you still can’t find one, then don’t despair. Still inside the car, there are plenty of other places to look. Places to check include under the seats, in the rear pockets of the front seats (if they have them), in or behind the glove box.

It might sound like looking for a piece of hay in a stack full of needles, but remember you’re looking for a suspicious looking box, often with wires coming out of it. It really won’t be too hard to find, if there is one.

If all else fails, you can always call a local mechanic or auto-electrician who may be able to assist. We at Infiniti Tracking don’t offer a service where we would search for an existing tracker in a vehicle unfortunately, however we have a team of specially trained, dedicated staff who can supply install a new one if required.

This gives you peace of mind and satisfaction that the only person monitoring your vehicle is you…. oh, and the 24/7 control centre who will liaise with the police, should the vehicle be stolen!

It’s hard to think of Tesla without thinking about Elon Musk. He has become synonymous with the electric car giant, but he wasn’t part of the original company. Tesla Motors, as it was originally called, was founded by two American entrepreneurs, Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning.

Named after the Serbian / American investor Nikola Tesla, Tesla was founded in 2003 to develop an electric sports car. One of the largest initial investors was PayPal’s co-founder, Elon Musk. Musk initially invested $30 million and their first vehicle rolled off the production line five years later. Within that time period both Eberhard and Tarpenning left the company, with Musk eventually taking over as CEO.

Since then, Tesla has gone from strength to strength. Their range of cars has increased, as has the distance their electric vehicles can travel. With more and more consumers choosing electric vehicles over their gas-guzzling counterparts, finding a car tracker for your Tesla is an increasingly popular search. Let’s look at the best options for you.

Before we get started, we know what you’re thinking, Tesla vehicles already have a car tracking system built-in to the software in the car, so why do you need a car tracker installing? Well, you’re right…..well, kind of.

It’s true that the Tesla app gives owners a real-time location of their vehicle. Should it be stolen, you can pinpoint it’s location, but the problem is that, because it’s an electric car, many of its features have to be optimised to save battery power. Because of this, the inbuilt tracker only updates when the car is moving. Once the thieves have stored the car, whether it’s in an underground car park or in a shipping container, if it’s not moving, it’s not active. The chances of recovery are massively reduced.

Installing a dedicated car tracker will not only ensure that you can keep tabs on the vehicle whether it’s in motion or not, it can also reduce your insurance premiums.

Owning a luxury brand like Tesla means that you’re probably going to be looking for an S5 tracker, Thatcham’s highest criteria for these devices. The two we would recommend are:

Meta Trak S5-VTS

Meta Track S5-VTS is one of the best-selling trackers because of the mix of cost-effectiveness and its feature-rich specifications.

You get all the features you would expect from a Meta Trak tracker like European coverage, battery back-ups, journey history and a host of alerts including low battery, tamper, geo-fence and motion. Being an S5 tracker means that you also get Driver ID tags. These small devices are kept with the driver and only disarm the car when they are in close proximity of the vehicle. If they’re not and the vehicle moves, the alarm will be raised by the 24-hour control centre.

ScorpionTrack S5 VTS

ScorpionTrack S5 VTS

The second Tesla tracker we’d recommend is the S5 VTS from ScorpionTrack. This is another fantastic S5 tracker with an even more comprehensive list of features to keep your Tesla exactly where you left it.

Like the Meta Trak above, you get a fantastic insurance and Thatcham-approved tracker with all the alerts you would expect. You also get a dedicated smartphone app, but this one has a couple of extra tricks up its sleeve. This one incorporates GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and GSM technologies to make its location even more precise. Not only that, but it also comes with OBD hacking protection to make sure no malicious software can be installed via the car’s On Board Diagnostic port.

Driving a Tesla is a real status symbol when it comes to automobiles, but that’s also a reason why thieves find them so attractive. Installing a dedicated tracker that works all the time is something that puts the power of your electric car firmly in your hands.

Keeping track of a couple of family cars can seem like a never-ending hassle. Remembering who’s got the keys, who’s clocking up the most miles and how much fuel they have left can be a fools-errand. If you manage a whole fleet of vehicles, you need some fleet-tracking software, but what is it and which is the best GPS system available? Let’s take a look.

If you break it down, GPS fleet tracking systems use a combination of GPS and the mobile data networks to monitor the activity of an assortment of company assets. Those assets are not only the vehicles themselves, but the people driving them too.

The benefits of fleet-tracking software goes way beyond the cars and vans out on the road or those behind the wheel. There are real business benefits behind the technology that can give your company tangible financial returns on your investment.

How does Fleet Tracking Software help?

Primarily, fleet-tracking software helps to reduce fuel costs, a key benefit in its own right with the rising cost of petrol and diesel around the world. It can also reduce expenses whilst increasing productivity by optimising the drivers. You can now keep control of out-of-hours usage, overtime claims, and when the drivers are speeding or sat with the engine idling. The latter also helps reduce your carbon footprint at a time when corporate responsibility is high on the industry’s agenda.

These systems have come a long way since the best you could hope for were some dots on a computerised map. Modern day systems offer, or should offer, live mapping, custom geo-fences, real-time updates, driver login and behaviour and a raft of powerful reporting features. Thankfully, our Infiniti Fleet Tracking system, powered by Scorpion Automotive, has all of those and more.

When it comes to vehicle technology, Scorpion Automotive have been the UKs leading telematics manufacturer since they were formed in 1973. In fact, our fleet tracking software was developed by their own in-house R&D (Research and Development) team, right here in the UK.

With a dedicated team behind it, we are proud to be able to offer a raft of incredible features to make fleet management both intuitive and powerful. The range of tools it puts at your disposal are second-to-none. These include live mapping that not only gives you vehicle positioning, but its speed, bearing and the state of the ignition system, all tracked in real-time on a detailed map. You don’t just get a top-down overview, but with Google Maps and Street View integration you can get a deeper understanding of the vehicle’s exact location in real-time.

As a fleet manager, one of the key aspects of your role will be the need for powerful reporting tools, thankfully Infiniti Fleet Tracking has you covered.

Our dashboard is equally intuitive, powerful and entirely customisable. This not only covers the reports you get, but where you get them. You can view them online or export them to .xls, HTML or PDF formats so you can analyse them on the go. It also comes with a dedicated iOS or Android app that keeps you connected no matter where you, or your drivers, are.

If you’re interested in utilising the power of the best GPS fleet-tracking software, just give us a call. Our nationwide team are on hand to install it at a time to suit you. There’s no long-time commitment either. Our rolling 30-day contract means you won’t be tied into a ridiculous long contract. That’s how confident we are that you’ll love it as much as we, and our other customers do.
